These ratings are based on the samples that I own personally. This mean that not necessarily your sample, due sample variation, will perform in the same way.
The stars:
1 - poor, use it only as a paperweight
2- good if you don’t have another lens and you are going to win the Pulitzer with this picture
3 - good for amateur use
4 - good for professional use
